The work is the expression of a sensation, the recognition of the aesthetic moment. When a spontaneous harmony is fortunately achieved, a temporal stillness is felt. Revealed is the extraordinary resonance of being; an experience of being alive.

The source material captures the information but I retain the feeling and hope to convey it in the work.

If the photographic reference sufficed, then there would be no need to create a painting or drawing; the photograph would be the art.

As a single drop of the sea contains the taste of the whole ocean, so too, I hope these single episodes of a much longer tale convey that ineffable beauty.
